| 내용 | Bucheon City has selected 15 smaller companies that will lead the local economy. Strong small business refers to a small but strong company that plays an important role in industrial development with excellent technical skills and growth potential. The selected companies are Nes Filer PKG (CEO Shim Yoon-seok), Daeyoung Choong-eum (CEO Cho Dae-sik), MegaTech (CEO Song Won-chul), and Samwon Tech. After announcing its selection in March, it was selected through quantitative and qualitative assessments focusing on growth potential such as future vision and technology competitiveness of businesses. It also reflected corporate ethics standards such as job creation, family-friendly, and handicapped businesses, as well as social contribution factors, as well as compliance with wage and environmental laws. In particular, it added fairness and transparency by strengthening objective verification by checking production sites and conducting a qualitative assessment at a selection review committee for small businesses comprising all private experts. Small businesses can receive up to twice the general limit (up to 2 billion won), and additional points will be given when they participate in various marketing projects such as opening up overseas markets and exhibitions. Qualification of small businesses will last for three years from the date of selection. The city shall affix the hard-core corporate certification to the entrance of each corporation with the certification of the selected entity. "This selection will be a starting point for local companies to grow into global companies that represent Korea," said Lee Jin-sun, an economic director of Bucheon City. Meanwhile, Bucheon City chose 10 small companies in 2014 and 20 small companies in 2015. Based on performance evaluation at the end of last year, the average annual sales of these steelmakers increased by 25 percent, employment and R&D investments increased by 11 percent and 59 percent, respectively.
